Dr. Gudas comes to Norton Healthcare to support the clinic’s mission of caring for opiate addiction with respect, compassion, and in thoughtful collaboration with patient needs.
After graduating from Brown University with a degree in Neuroscience, Dr. Gudas worked as a researcher at Mt Sinai Hospital in New York, investigating synaptogenesis (how neurons develop connections). He received his M.D. from UMass Medical School, and completed a transitional residency in medicine and surgery at Signature Healthcare, Brockton Hospital. He subsequently completed a residency in Preventive Medicine at Johns Hopkins, simultaneously receiving a Masters in Public Health.
Board Certified in General Preventive Medicine, Dr. Gudas is interested in treating addiction at both an individual and population level. This means reducing stigma, treating patients suffering from addiction with respect, and looking for ways to reduce opiate use and abuse in the community.
